Faruk Başaran Science and Art Center
Trabzon Faruk Başaran Science and Art Center is a project-based, independent support education institution opened in Trabzon with the aim of enabling gifted students to be aware of their individual talents and to develop and use their capacities at the highest level.
Applications and procedures regarding the nomination of students in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades of primary school, who are considered to have special talents in the field of general mental skills, in the field of painting skills, and the field of musical skills, by their classroom teachers, are carried out by the diagnosis calendar published by the Ministry.
Students nominated by their schools are taken to pre-assessment and individual assessment practices in line with the determined calendar and with the determined measurement tools. Students who are successful in these diagnostic stages register in our Center. Registered students continue to our Center until the last year of high school.
In our center, unlike formal education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, there are programs, not grade levels. These are;
- Integration Program (Newly enrolled students)
- Support Education Program (2,3,4. Grades)
- Individual Talent Recognition Program (ETF) (5,6th Grades)
- Special Talent Development Program (ÖYG) (7,8th Grades)
- Project Production and Management (PÜY) (High school students)
- Art-Music Students (All grade levels)
In our center; 588 students receive talent training, including 488 students in the General Mental Talent Field, 69 students in the Painting Talent Field, and 31 students in the Music Talent Field.
With a protocol signed by our center with KTU and Trabzon Universities in 2019 under the auspices of the Trabzon Governorship, all laboratories of KTU and Trabzon University are used when needed and support is received from academics. In the 2021-2022 academic year, 45 academicians provide support and consultancy services to our activities and projects.
In addition, the laboratories and experts of the Institute of Aquaculture Sciences support the studies of our students in the field of biology. Studies are also carried out with Rize RTE University Aquatic Sciences department.
In cooperation with TÜBİTAK, scientists organize conferences, talks, and workshops at our Center. Studies in the field of Nuclear Physics continue with METU.
Studies are also carried out with Istanbul Baykar Makine.
Planned studies continue with Trabzon TEKNOKENT, KTU Farabi Hospital, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Department of Computer Science, and Faculty of Fine Arts.
People who have made a difference in their fields (industrialists, manufacturers, historians, writers, painting and photography artists, sound artists, designers, etc.) are invited to our center, and workshops and conversations are held with the students of the relevant field.

In the project studies carried out in Tubitak, Teknofest, and other areas, project ideas with high commercialization potential will be scanned and commercialized.
FARUK BAŞARAN BİLSEM CAMP CENTER
In Akçaabat Özdemirci District, we have a camp center with 8 classrooms and 35 beds. During the education period and on holidays, a short and long-term boarding camp program is held at our camp center. Night observations with telescopes are made frequently in our camp center.
There are Biology, Chemistry, Physics laboratories, Art workshop and Wood workshop in our camp center.
